MARVIN stands for MERHAB Autonomous Research Vessel In Situ. It is a solar powered water quality monitoring platform with multiple instruments on board that measure 21 different parameters at multiple depths in the water where MARVIN is moored. MARVIN's can be moved to a new mooring site, but are best suited to collected high frequency data in one location for a prolonged period.
